Frank Gerard "Jerry" Piquette passed away due to natural causes on Saturday, January 10, 2026. He was 89.
Born in Westcliffe, CO. on June 20, 1936, Jerry spent his childhood in Westcliffe. Following high school graduation, Jerry enlisted in the Navy and spent 3 years serving on destroyers.
Following his time in the Navy, Jerry married Phyllis Yvonne Bouchard (deceased) and had three children, Holly Marie, Leah Ann, and Daniel Steven who still survive Jerry. He was preceded in death by brother Bill and grandson Jedd Nevil, and is survived still by sister Joan and brothers John, Paul, and Bud. Jerry has 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who will miss him deeply, as will many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Jerry received a Master's degree in business from Western State College in Gunnison, CO. Following graduation, Jerry worked as the Treasurer and Vice President for Business Affairs for Western State College until retirement.
Jerry was a devoted Catholic. He deeply engaged with the Knights of Columbus, Benevolent and Protective order of Elks, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
Jerry was passionate about hiking, camping, and fly fishing and he spent many days and nights in some of the most remote wilderness areas of Colorado. He traveled the world. And, for 27 years, Jerry "The Marbleman" taught children how to play marbles. He even had 3 National Marble Champions and many others who won the Best Sport Award.
There will be an open viewing and Rosary on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM and memorial service on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00 AM both at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Gunnison, CO. followed by a reception, place TBD. On Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 12:00 PM there will be a graveside service with military honors at the Ula Cemetery in Westcliffe, CO.
